History

Athletes from Brazil have been in every Summer Olympic Games since then, except the 1928 Games. Brazil has been in the Winter Olympic Games since 1992.

Brazilian athletes have won a total of 108 medals, with volleyball, sailing and judo as the top medal-producing sports.

The National Olympic Committee for Brazil was formed in 1914 and recognized in 1935. Brazil won the rights to host the 2016 Olympics in the city of Rio de Janerio.
