Cairns in Queensland was the beginning of the 1956 Olympic torch relay

Australia has hosted the Olympics twice:

The 1956 Summer Olympics were at Melbourne in Victoria.[6]

The 2000 Summer Olympics were at Sydney in New South Wales.[7]
