Usage notes
- 勺 was adopted as the standard simplification of 杓 (sháo) in the second round of simplified Chinese characters. The current standard, the Table of General Standard Chinese Characters, includes 杓, but it is intended to only be used for the biāo reading according to Tongyong Guifan Hanzi Zidian. Dictionaries from Mainland China, such as Xiandai Hanyu Cidian and Xiandai Hanyu Guifan Cidian, treat 杓 as an alternative form of 勺 (sháo).
