東人

     The sons of the easterners are only summoned [to service] without encouragement, while the sons of the westerners shine in splendid dresses.

1. (historical) a political faction in the Korean court which emerged in a dispute over the appropriate powers of royal in-laws in the 1570s, opposing the 西人 (xīrén, “Westerner”) faction; around 1589, they split into the 北人 (běirén, “Northerner”) and 南人 (nánrén, “Southerner”) factions
