Compare Northern Hindko کَہار (kahār). Far cognate with Persian کرت (kart) and English garth / yard, Scottish Gaelic gàrradh (“garden; wall”) and Irish garraí (“garden; small enclosure; halo”), among others. Doublet of گَڑھ (gaṛh).
