Etymology
Obsolete nominal suffix, derived from *-okъ + *-jь, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *-kyós. Equivalent to *-čь, appended to o-stems. Encountered mainly in South Slavic.
Survives as an adverb in *per + *-očь > Old Church Slavonic прочь (pročĭ, “forth”), проче (proče, “therefore”).
