From Pre-Angkorian Old Khmer ទ្រវ្យ (dravya, asset; possession; property; wealth; valuable; etc), from Sanskrit द्रव्य (dravya, object; substance; thing; etc). Cognate with Modern Khmer ទ្រព្យ (trŏəp).
