From μιλώ (miló) + -άω, inherited from Byzantine Greek ὁμιλῶ (homilô), μιλῶ, from Hellenistic Koine Greek ὁμῑλέω (homīléō), ancient sense "be in company with",[1] from ὅμῑλος (hómīlos).
