Etymology
Uncertain, possibly loaned from Tocharian A tmāṃ or Tocharian B tᵤmāne (“ten thousand”), ultimately from Middle Chinese 萬 (MC mjonH, “myriad”)
Possibly derived from Proto-Turkic *tüm (“all, entirely”).
