Maybe from earlier *kaŋčikān. Now can be analyzable as *kači- + -kān. Compared to Proto-Turkic *kaŋčïk (bitch (female dog); female), whence Turkish kancık (female dog), Kyrgyz канчык (kancık). (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
