Borrowed from Gothic 𐌱𐍂𐌿𐌽𐌾𐍉 (brunjō, “breastplate”) or Proto-West Germanic *brunnjā (“chain mail”), either from Proto-Germanic *brunjǭ, from Proto-Celtic *brusnyos.
