Etymology
Perhaps from *t(s)pērH- (“to kick with the heel”) + *-sneh₂, possible compound of *pd- (“foot”) + *sperH- (“to beat, kick”).[1] Alternatively from *t(s)pḗr-s + *-néh₂, s-stem of the same root.
