Etymology
From *h₃rinéHti (“move”), an infixed form of *h₃rey(H)-, ultimately from the root *h₃er- (“to rise, move, stir”). Related to *rina (“cloud(s)”) (modern re (“cloud(s)”)), Proto-Slavic *rinǫti (“to push, shove”), Aeolic Greek ὀρῑ́νω (orī́nō, “to move”).[1]
