Cognate with Chuvash пулма (pulma), Karakhanid [script needed] (bolmāq), Turkmen bōlmak, Uyghur بولماق (bolmaq), Uzbek boʻlmoq, Bashkir булыу (bulıw), Kazakh болу (bolu), Khakas поларға (polarğa), Kyrgyz болуу (boluu), Southern Altai болор (bolor), Tuvan болур (bolur), Yakut буол (buol). Possibly cognate with Azerbaijani olmaq, Turkish olmak, Crimean Tatar olmaq.
