흩날리다 • (heunnallida) (infinitive 흩날려 or 흩날리어, sequential 흩날리니)

1. (intransitive) to scatter in the wind; to be scattered by the wind

   노인의 흩날리는 백발

   the old man's fluttering white beard

2. (transitive) to scatter in the wind; to cause to be scattered by the wind

   낙엽을 흩날리는 가을 바람

   nagyeob-eul heunnallineun ga'eul baram

   the autumn wind that scatters the fallen leaves

• Technically, 흩날다 (heunnalda) is active "to scatter in the wind" and 흩날리다 (heunnallida) is passive "to be scattered by the wind". In practice, the two are largely synonymous and the latter is more common.
