Etymology
Possibly from Middle Chinese compound 輕罪/轻罪 (khjieng dzwojX, literally “light + crime, offense”).
Alternatively, may have been coined in Japan of Middle Chinese-derived elements, as a compound of 軽 (kei, “light”, kan'on reading) + 罪 (zai, “crime, offense”, goon reading).
