玩忽職守

1. (Mainland China) to neglect one's duty; to engage in misconduct in public office

     國家機關工作人員濫用職權或者玩忽職守，致使公共財產、國家和人民利益遭受重大損失的，處三年以下有期徒刑或者拘役；情節特別嚴重的，處三年以上七年以下有期徒刑。 [MSC, trad.]

     Guójiājīguān gōngzuòrényuán lànyòng zhíquán huòzhě wánhūzhíshǒu, zhìshǐ gōnggòng cáichǎn, guójiā hé rénmín lìyì zāoshòu zhòngdà sǔnshī de, chù sān nián yǐxià yǒuqītúxíng huòzhě jūyì; qíngjié tèbié yánzhòng de, chù sān nián yǐshàng qī nián yǐxià yǒuqītúxíng. [Pinyin]

     Any functionary of a State organ who abuses his power or neglects his duty, thus causing heavy losses to public money or property or the interests of the State and the people, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years or criminal detention; if the circumstances are especially serious, he shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than seven years.
