Usage notes

As with all plain imperatives, this form is only used when speaking informally with close friends or with subordinates. A more socially appropriate version to use in other contexts is ()にしないでください (ki ni shi nai de kudasai). See Appendix:Japanese verbs § Imperative form for more.
