Etymology
From Proto-Dravidian *on-ṯu (“one”). Cognate with Malayalam ഒന്ന് (onnŭ), Kannada ಒಂದು (ondu) and Telugu ఒండు (oṇḍu), Tulu ಒಂಜಿ (oñji).
