Doublet of પુત્ર (putra) and પિસર (pisar). Cognate with Hindustani پوت / पूत (pūt), Punjabi پتر / ਪੁੱਤਰ (puttar), Bengali পুত (put). Wider cognates include Persian پسر (pesar), English few.
