Etymology 1

Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀤𑀫𑁆𑀫 (damma, coin), from Sanskrit द्रम्म (drammá),[1] borrowed from Ancient Greek δραχμή (drakhmḗ). Doublet of दमड़ा (damṛā) and दिरम (diram).
