Cognate with Gujarati તાપવું (tāpvũ), Hindustani تَاپْنَا (tāpnā) / तापना (tāpnā), Sindhi تَپَڻُ / तपणु, Punjabi ਤਪਣਾ (tapṇā) / تَپݨا (tapṇā) , Sinhalese තපිනවා (tapinawā).
