Inherited from Proto-Turkic *ïnan- (to believe); cognate with Azerbaijani inanmaq, Bashkir инаныу (inanıw), Chuvash ӗнен (ĕnen), Kazakh нану (nanu), Kyrgyz ынануу (ınanuu), Turkmen ynanmak, Uyghur ئىنەنمەك (inenmek) and Uzbek inonmoq.
