Kildare is a remote town situated in the greater Ximhungwe areas of Bushbuckridge Local Municipality within the Ehlanzeni District Municipality in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa.

It is also known as Ximhungwe or Ireagh to many locals from the nearby areas due to the major postal office and a Transnet railway station situated in the town. One of the largest and busiest taxi ranks in the greater Ximhungwe areas can be found in the town.

Kildare, or Ximhungwe is also a central business location where taxis to major townships and villages such as Thulamahashe, Mkhuhlu, Lillydale and Cunningmore can be found.

  • Sipho Dzimba is a prominent media specialist from Kildare in Bushbuckridge. Dzimba is a popular journalist, public relations expert, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is also the founder and chairman of SD Mabaya FC. Dzimba has written many stories that were published in various newspapers across the country.


  • Canicee, real name Silence Ubisi, is an award winning hip-hop artist and music producer. He won his first major award at the Munghana Lonene FM in 2023.


  • Amukelani Gazide, managing director of the SAFA Men's Regional League soccer team, Liver Brothers FC. The team made history by becoming the first soccer team from Bushbuckridge to play in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 competition.
