Khayan (Persian: خايان, also Romanized as Khāyān and Khāyūn)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Shirvan-e Sharqi Rural District of Shirvan District, Borujerd County, Lorestan province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 2,096 in 579 households, when it was in the former Shirvan Rural District of the Central District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 2,174 people in 687 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,148 people in 678 households. It was the largest village in its rural district.[2]

After the census, the rural district was separated from the district, renamed Shirvan-e Sharqi Rural District, and along with the newly created Shirvan-e Gharbi Rural District established Shirvan District.[4]
