Etymology

Sino-Vietnamese word from 時. Doublet of thì and giờ.

Originally a Northern innovation. As a topic marker, thời has mostly been supplanted by thì spreading from the South.

    O is rounded like a chicken egg. Ô wears a hat, ơ has a beard.
