1. (Hinduism, Sikhism) Selfless service that is performed without any expectation of reward for performing it.

     Giving loving service to God and human beings is known as seva. According to Hindu scriptures it is the highest form of dharma. Some seva can produce good karma, which enables the atman to proceed towards moksha where it will be united with God.
