Etymology

From Ottoman Turkish صارقق (ṣarḳıḳ, pendulous, hanging loosely),[1] from Ottoman Turkish صارقمق (ṣarḳmaḳ, to hang loosely, to drop or lag astern), from Proto-Turkic *sark- (to hang loosely, to swing, to drip),[2][3] morphologically sark- + -ık.
