pterygopalatine ganglion (plural pterygopalatine ganglia)
- (neuroanatomy) An autonomic ganglion of the maxillary nerve that is situated in the pterygopalatine fossa and that receives preganglionic parasympathetic fibers from the facial nerve and sends postganglionic fibers to the nasal mucosa, palate, pharynx, and orbit.
