Inherited from Sanskrit क्रन्दति (krándati). Cognate with Maharastri Prakrit 𑀓𑀁𑀤𑀇 (kaṃdaï), Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀓𑀁𑀤𑀤𑀺 (kaṃdadi). Related to kandana.
