IPA(key): /i̠³⁵/

Etymology 1

Etymology unclear. Maybe a common innovative form in some Burmish languages, thus cognate with Zaiwa i, Lashi eig' and Luxi Achang ak⁵⁵. Whether these forms are related to forms with initial s-/ʃ-(as in Lhao Vo shid') or not is unclear but seems possible.

Etymology 2

Possibly cognate with Burmese သေး (se:, urine)(cf. Pela i̠⁵⁵ (liquor) vs. Burmese သေ (se, liquor)). If so, from Proto-Sino-Tibetan *g-ts(y)i-t/n (urine, urinate), and cognate with Tibetan གཅི་བ (gci ba, urinate), Sichuan Yi (zzy, urine) and Jingpho jit. Compare Lhao Vo yhid' and Zaiwa i.
