gamó
Catalan
Etymology
Uncertain. Probably from a substrate language. Maybe related with Proto-Brythonic *gwɨmon, from Proto-Celtic *wimmonā, and this possibly from a non-IE substrate language or from Proto-Indo-European *weyb- (“to wind around”). Cognate with Portuguese gamão, Spanish gamón and Galician gamón.
