Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish فضولی (fużûli, pertaining to excess; unjust),[1][2] from Arabic فُضُولِيّ (fuḍūliyy, curious, prying), from فُضُول (fuḍūl, curiosity) + ـِيّ (-iyy, nisba suffix).[3]
