Etymology

Probably from Late Latin discalceāre, present active infinitive of discalceō, from Latin calceō. Perhaps influenced by Latin disculciāre; cf. discolç. Compare Romanian desculța, variant of descălța, Sardinian iscultzare, iscurtare, iscrutzai.

Verb

discolçâ

  1. (transitive) to remove or take off shoes

Conjugation

This was conjugated like a regular verb, but with a change from -ç- to -c- before front vowels (i and e).
