Borrowed from Portuguese púcaro, from Old Galician-Portuguese pucaro, from Latin pōculum (“drinking cup”), from Proto-Italic *pōtlom, from Proto-Indo-European *péh₃tlom, derived from the root *peh₃- (“to drink”). Doublet of póculo.
