Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish عزم ایتمك (ʿazm itmek, etmek, to undertake, to begin, to set out),[1][2] from عزم (ʿazm), equivalent to compound of azim (determination to overcome obstacles) + etmek (to do, to make).[3]
