In reference to the Tapiro d'Oro (“Golden Tapir”), a satirical prize given by the TV program Striscia la Notizia to someone famous who has behaved reprehensibly or ridiculously. Morphologically from a- (“ad-, en-”) + tapiro + -ato (“-ed”).
