Etymology
From earlier *u̇tik, from a metathesised form of Proto-Uralic *ükte. Cognates include Proto-Finnic *ükci and Proto-Samic *ëktë. The unmetathesised form *u̇k > *ɔ̇k is found in some derived terms.
