Etymology
Possibly from Proto-Indo-European *h₃r̥ǵi-pth₂-yó-s, from *h₃reǵi- (“straight”) + *peth₂- (“to fly”) + *-yós. Possible cognate with Old Armenian արծուի (arcui).[1]

- Sanskrit: ऋजिप्य (ṛjipyá, “straight-flying; falcon”)
