From Proto-Iranian *Hhucráwah, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hsućráwas, from *Hsu- (good) + *ćráwas (fame). Equivalent to 𐬵𐬎- (hu-, good) + 𐬯𐬭𐬀𐬎𐬎𐬀 (srauua, word). Cognate with Vedic Sanskrit सुश्रवस् (suśrávas, famous).
