-πΏπ·
Gothic
Etymology
From Proto-Germanic *-hw, *-uh.
Usage notes
- The clitic can occur after the prefix in prefixed verbs; see πΉπ½πΏπ·ππ°π½π³πΉπ³π΄π³πΏπ½ (inuhsandidΔdun) for example.
- After vowels this clitic is reduced to -π· (-h), thus ππ½π°πΏ (snau) (from ππ½πΉπ π°π½ (sniwan)) yields ππ½π°πΏπ· (snauh), not *snawuh (despite the u in snau deriving from an underlying w which is visible in the infinitive and other forms).
