-ևին
Old Armenian
Etymology
From the stem vowel -ե- (-e-) + -ւ- (-w-), which has the same origin as -ւ (-w, “instrumental case marker”), namely Proto-Indo-European *-bʰi, + -ին (-in) suffix. Alternatively, and more probably, -ին (-in) may reflect the -i- in Proto-Indo-European *-bʰi followed by a demonstrative element from Proto-Indo-European *-nós > -ն (-n). Compare -ովին (-ovin).
Suffix
-ևին • (-ewin)
