Etymology

From a compound of Proto-Turkic *-m (ordinal suffix) + Proto-Turkic *-inč (ordinal suffix),[1] compare Bulgar -مْ (-m, ordinal suffix) and -شِ (-şi, ordinal suffix).[2]

Cognate with Khalaj -minci, Turkmen -minji (ordinal suffix).
