1. (dated, obsolete) Deverbal from a-conj. verbs expressing a resultant or a quality induced by a past activity:

   постра́дам (postrádam, “to suffer”) → пострада́вш (postradávš, “having experience a misfortune”) (poetic)

   па́дам (pádam, “to fall”) → па́давш (pádavš, “fallen out of grace”) (poetic, dated)

   колеба́я (kolebája, “to oscillate”) → колеба́вш (kolebávš, “uncertain, fluctuant”) (dated)

   игра́я (igrája, “to play”) → игра́вш (igrávš, “formally playable”) (dated)

2. (dated, obsolete) Deverbal from a/j-conj. verbs expressing a resultant or a quality induced by a past activity:

   пока́жа (pokáža, “to show”) → показа́вш (pokazávš, “indicative of”) (rare)

   пи́ша (píša, “to write”) → писа́вш (pisávš, “formerly writing (for a writing tool)”) (rare)

In Modern Bulgarian, the derivatives constructed with this suffix are interpreted as normal adjectives. The past active participle construction has been lost.
