Etymology
Compound of 王 (ō, “king”) + 殺し (koroshi, 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the verb 殺す (korosu, “kill”).). The koroshi changes to goroshi as an instance of rendaku (連濁).
