Usage notes

The guqin has only one yueshan (located at the instrument's head), whereas the guzheng has two yueshan: the straight qian yueshan (前岳山) that is located at the instrument's head, and the hou yueshan (后岳山) that is located at the instrument's tail, which is usually S-shaped on modern 21-string instruments built since c. 1963.
