Phono-semantic compound (形聲／形声, OC *bin) : semantic 女 (“woman”) + phonetic 賓 (OC *mpin) – a kind of woman, a court lady or maid. 賓 also means “obey, submit”, hence connotations of “an obedient woman, a maid”.
