Etymology
An initialism using the first characters from the words 報告 (hōkoku, “report, reporting”) + 連絡 (renraku, “contacting, communicating”) + 相談 (sōdan, “consulting, discussing”).[1][2]
Intentionally coined as a homophone with 菠薐草 (hōrensō, “spinach”).
