Partial calque of Literary Chinese 千里之行,始於足下 (qiānlǐ zhī xíng, shǐyú zú xià, literally “a road of a thousand li begins with a step”).
The back-formation of this form in pseudo-kanbun would be 千里之道,自一步始.
