Cognate with Northern Thai ᩋ᩵ᩣ᩠ᨦ, Lao ອ່າງ (ʼāng), Tai Dam ꪮ꪿ꪱꪉ, Shan ဢၢင်ႇ (ʼàang), Tai Nüa ᥟᥣᥒᥱ (ʼǎang), Ahom 𑜒𑜂𑜫 (ʼaṅ), Tày áng.
